What are the responsibilities and job description for the Prior Auth/Clerical LPN position at Kirby Medical Center?
Location: Atwood, Cerro Gordo and Monticello Illinois
Shift: Day shift
Schedule: M-F 8am-4:30pm
Job Summary: Predominantly serves in a clerical role. Reviews requests for medical treatments, procedures, and medications. Determines and documents if the treatment or medicine is necessary or has potential benefits. Communicates with insurance providers and payors to ensure timely treatment and medication dispensation. Other duties input of new patient information into the EHR. Supports clinical staff through completion of FMLA and disability requests, Gathers patient data needed for establishing care.
Will occasionally provide direct patient care in the office/clinic setting. Provides care that meets the psychosocial, physical and general aspects of care; meets the communication needs of patient and family; provides care that reflects initiative and responsibility indicative of professional expectations, under the direct supervision of a physician. Maintains regulatory requirements, nursing and office/clinic policies, procedures and standards. Communicates with physicians and team members about patient’s clinical condition, including results of diagnostic studies and symptomatology.

Regulatory Requirements:
- Current LPN licensure in State of Illinois.
- Current BCLS certification.
