Human Resources Generalist   Position Level:          Exempt                         Reports To:                Human Resources Manager                Position Summary:   Provides support to the assigned business. Runs the HR processes regarding employee relations, training, recruitment, development, implementation of policies and procedures in accordance with the company’s vision, mission, values, principles and HROE Team Goals.                                       Essential Job Functions (include but are not limited to): Provides guidance to managers regarding employee relations issues and policy interpretations to ensure consistency and equity within the business units as well as across the company and interprets policies, programs, procedures and advises employees Develops, manages, and facilitates training programs and curriculum that align with and support the business strategy Contributes and sustains the ongoing execution and development of the Talent Acquisition Strategy Promotes retention, employee engagement, training, and development strategies Develops and maintains relevant metrics by collecting and analyzing information; identify key trends and provide recommendations based on data; implement improvements to existing processes and solutions Encourages and advocates employee engagement and retention strategies and programs  Investigates employee incidents and work with the location assigned Human Resource Manager to resolve; accurately record all interactions/incidents Maintains company strategies, policies, procedures goals, objectives, and associated processes Promotes the importance of an accurate and timely employee performance appraisals, assisting managers and supervisors as needed with the process Builds, promotes, and maintains constructive work professional relationships with other business units, departments, internal and external customers as a business partner Collaborates with HROE team and management to identify needs Demonstrates professionalism when representing the company in all communications with internal and external customers and vendors. Adheres to all company, policies, procedures, Values & Principles as a member of a Kirby Risk corporate department Conscious consideration of the Kirby Risk organization when engaging on social media, mindful of the images and language used Completes and demonstrates a full understanding of ongoing cyber security training concepts and applications In addition to the Essential Functions and responsibilities listed above, all positions are also responsible for: Exhibiting leadership as defined by the Values & Principles Meeting company standards pertaining to quantity and quality of work performed on an ongoing basis, performing all work-related tasks in a manner that complies with all Company policies and procedures. Adhering to Company policies, procedures, and directives regarding standards of workplace behavior in completing job duties and assignments while maintaining regular and timely attendance.   Education/Specialized Knowledge/Skills/Experience Required: Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Organizational Leadership, Business related field or 5 years Human Resources relevant work experience 3 years proven experience in successfully deploying HR initiatives Good understanding of current employment laws, and practices Strong analytical skills and ability to provide insights on process and delivery improvements Excellent problem-solving and critical thinking skills Strong interpersonal and coaching skills Ability to motivate, influence and persuade at all levels of the organization Exhibit necessary level of openness and empathy to effectively understand the needs of customers, both external and internal Collaborative, consultative, team-oriented, able to track and report on success of projects Ability to handle multiple tasks/priorities and successfully meet several deadlines at once while maintaining attention to detail and organization Strong written, verbal communication, interpersonal and customer contact skills Flexibility to cover multiple shifts when needed Continuous learner who is goal-oriented, self-motivated, and able to work independently Demonstrates computer skills and aptitude, Microsoft Office databases, Excel and Word Listening effectively when others are speaking Strong facilitation skills, willing/able to lead initiatives Effectively executes all job functions under challenging situations Understands business operations and processes Ability to perform and retain various skill related tasks, training, and operations   Critical Competencies: Customer Service Excellence Passion for Results Development Accountability Integrity Relationships Community Job knowledge   Team Spirit Safety Quality Adaptability / Flexibility Performance Standards: Communication Initiative Problem Solving / Analysis Knowledge of Business Business Acumen Interpersonal Skills Strategic Thinking / Management Productivity Confidentiality Decision Making / Judgment   Training to be completed within 6 Months: Comprehensive understanding of the vision, goals and objectives of the business unit Company Business System Software Company HRMS software   Internal Safety Training Standards Kirby Risk learning paths as applicable to the role Successfully complete continuing education required to maintain knowledge of systems and programs     Work Environment: Primarily onsite, indoors, controlled temperature environment May be required to go to customer site where the environmental conditions will vary Ability to perform essential functions of the role in a work environment with a variation of noise levels to include high to moderate noise due to hand tools, machinery, heavy equipment, alarms, vibration, and general conversations Ability to perform in a fast-paced, collaborative, and competitive business environment This position will be working with office equipment utilizing typical office equipment Computer, printer, copier, scanner, phone, all equipment related to area Ability to perform in a team environment embodying the Values & Principles while communicating in a professional manner Sustains housekeeping standards in accordance with appearance guidelines Ability to perform and retain various skill related tasks, training, and operations   Safety Requirements:   Correct and report unsafe task or operation immediately prior to continuing the task Immediately report or respond incidents involving injury, illness, safety hazard or property damage Comply with all company and customer OSHA, safety policies, procedures, rules, and best practices Participate in safety meetings and training Be constantly aware of personal safety and that of coworkers Wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) as required Ability to safely and effectively use and operate equipment required for work   Physical Requirements:   Ability to push pull carry up to 50 lbs.
