What are the responsibilities and job description for the Medical Scribe position at Kirkpatrick Family Care?
We are a community oriented, independent Internal Medicine clinic with a long history of caring for the residents of Cowlitz County and surrounding areas. We treat a variety of complex patients and disease states. Our scribes are active participants and work side by side with providers.
Medical Scribe Responsibilities:
- Record a detailed account of the patients visit
- Transcribe letters or other documentation as directed by the provider
- Assisting the provider with fundamental patient care
- Assisting with ICD-10 coding and CPT coding.
Requirements:
- Motivated to learn and implement new skills
- Proficient Typing Skills
- Detail Oriented
- Able to work ten-hour shifts
- Impeccable written, verbal, and interpersonal skills
- Knowledge of Anatomy & Physiology (beneficial, but not required)
- Knowledge of medical terminology (beneficial, but not required)
This is an excellent opportunity for current medical students and gap year students needing patient contact hours. This position offers exposure to multiple areas of the medical field, disease states, treatments, advancements in medicine and insight into the provider/patient relationship.
