The Cabinet Maker is responsible for designing, making and assembling wooden furniture and cabinetry.

- Takes customer orders and agrees on the specifications
- Reviews drawings and chooses appropriate materials, such as the correct type of timber, veneer, or synthetic board
- Uses computer-aided design programs to perform calculations and refine drawings
- Cuts and joins wood to make parts according to the plans
- Assembles cabinets and furniture from shaped components
- Creates cabinetry and furniture pieces according to specifications, including hinges, locks, and handles
- Repairs or refurbishes older furniture
- Refines or enhances existing furniture by adding intricate details
- Performs other duties as assigned
- Strong mathematical skills to perform calculations and measurements
- Excellent hand-eye coordination and spatial awareness
- Ability to operate cutting and joining tools and machines
- Excellent knowledge of different surfaces and adhesives
- Ability to work precisely with an eye for detail
- High school diploma, GED, or equivalent
- Completion of a training program or apprenticeship preferred
- At least 1 year of experience as a Cabinet Maker, with a portfolio of completed works
- Reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, grasping, feeling, talking, hearing, and handling
- Physical fitness, including ease of movement and the capacity to lift up to 50 pounds
