Job Summary
The Radiology File Clerk is responsible for organizing, filing, retrieving, and maintaining radiological records and images. This position ensures that patient records are managed in an accurate, secure, and confidential manner, supporting the efficient operation of the radiology department.
Essential Functions
- Organizes and maintains radiology files, images, and records in an orderly and efficient manner.
- Retrieves and delivers radiology records and images to authorized personnel as requested.
- Ensures all radiology records are properly labeled, categorized, and filed to facilitate easy retrieval.
- Assists with the release of patient records in accordance with hospital policies and patient confidentiality laws.
- Prepares and scans radiology documents into the electronic medical record system as needed.
- Responds promptly to requests for records, both in-person and electronically, ensuring timely service to patients and staff.
- Verifies the accuracy of information and ensures that all records are complete and up to date.
- Maintains confidentiality and adheres to all HIPAA regulations and hospital policies regarding patient information.
- Assists with routine administrative tasks such as answering phones, scheduling, and directing inquiries to the appropriate department.
- Monitors and maintains an adequate inventory of filing supplies and requests additional supplies as needed.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Complies with all policies and standards.
Qualifications
- H.S. Diploma or GED required
- 0-1 years of experience in a clerical or healthcare setting required

- Proficient in basic computer skills and the use of office equipment.
