Team Lead - Clean Room Packaging Inspector

Kirwan Surgical Products is dedicated to creating and developing superior products for demanding microsurgical specialties such as ophthalmology, ear, nose and throat, plastic and reconstructive surgery, and orthopedic surgery. We are currently seeking a qualified Cleanroom Lead Inspector to help oversee Cleanroom operations, ensure compliance with documented standards and act as a back-up to the Cleanroom Manager.

Duties and responsibilities include:

• Support daily operations. Communicate and coordinate internally to ensure efficient inventory transfers by the required deadlines.
• Monitor job progress, troubleshoot issues, and assist with training.
• Conduct in-process visual inspections during packaging process.
• Identify Quality defects and take required action/initiate non-conformance.
• Inspection and Packaging require the use of the following tools:
  • Various automated heat sealers.
  • Tensile sample cutters and X-Acto knives
  • Tensile testers
  • Air knife
  • Tappi charts

Required Skills/Abilities:

• Knowledge of sealing, continuous inspection and measurement techniques equipment.
• Excellent computer skills and willingness to learn Kirwans production software.
• Comfortable working in a controlled environment and familiar with gowning process.
• Knowledge of production quality records and DHRs.
• Understanding or ability to identify different product codes.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Teamwork and collaboration.

Education and Experience:

• College degree is strongly preferred.
• 3 years of experience as in quality control or packaging required.
• Supervisor experience preferred.

Physical Requirements:

• May need to sit or stand throughout shift/prolonged hours.
• Reaching above shoulder height, below the waist or lifting as required to file documents or store materials throughout the workday.
• Must be able to lift to 40 pounds at a time. Occasionally, you need to lift 50 pounds.
