Job Summary
This temporary full-time, nine-month faculty position will be focused on writing instruction, including Composition 1 and 2, Developmental Corequisite Support, and Technical Writing. Occasional teaching of courses in Literature and Humanities will also be possible. The teaching load may include daytime, evening, online, hybrid, flex, and off-campus (dual credit) course offerings. The successful candidate should be able to work with students with a wide range of academic preparation and collaborate with other faculty in professional activities. Candidates must exhibit an effective teaching style that supports innovative instruction, the use of technology and the success of a diverse student body.

Required Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities
- Facility with a variety of instructional technologies
- Familiarity with Competency-Based Education and/or Credit for Prior Learning
- Proficiency in assessment of student learning
- Competence in teaching strategies that foster active learning and student success
- Effectiveness in leadership, organizational, and team-building skills
- Master’s degree or higher in English or Rhetoric/Composition
- Two (2) years of teaching experience, community college experience preferred
- Experience with online instruction
- Commitment to community college mission
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively as a team member
- Demonstrated skills in effective communication in English, both spoken and written
- Experience with Developmental Writing instruction, particularly corequisite supports
- Experience with Technical Writing instruction
- Experience with curriculum and course development
- Work is normally performed in a general office environment.
- Work performed requires sensitivity and responsiveness to changing goals, priorities and needs.
- This position requires light physical activity and movement; employee must possess mobility to work in a standard office setting and use standard office equipment, including a computer; vision to read printed materials and a computer screen; and hearing and speech to communicate in person, before groups, and over the telephone or during virtual meetings. Must possess the ability to lift, carry, push, and pull materials and objects up to 25 pounds with the use of proper equipment. Reasonable accommodations will be made for individuals on a case-by-case basis.
