We are seeking a highly motivated Associate Director, Operational Excellence & Stability to join our growing team in Foster City, CA.
The Associate Director, Operational Excellence & Stability is responsible the Gilead IT Cell Therapy group’s strategy and business operations. This leadership role will partner with the Cell Therapy IT leadership team and respective Tech Ops partners to provide delivery of technical solutions to enable Kite manufacturing. This will be a critical role within Kite IT reporting to the Senior Director of Kite IT Quality and Business Strategy Organization. It is a highly cross functional role working closely with the leadership team from various business groups, Gilead and Kite IT.

We are seeking a highly motivated Associate Director, Operational Excellence & Stability to join our growing team in Foster City, CA.
The Associate Director, Operational Excellence & Stability is responsible the Gilead IT Cell Therapy group’s strategy and business operations. This leadership role will partner with the Cell Therapy IT leadership team and respective Tech Ops partners to provide delivery of technical solutions to enable Kite manufacturing. Responsibilities of the Associate Director, Operational Excellence & Stability include, but are not limited to:
Strategy and Roadmap
- Maintaining the overall technology roadmaps of the organization in alignment with Kite business objectives
- Group budget including meeting all Finance submission dates (JuneLE and SeptLE)
- Responsible for the entire groups financial reporting (i.e., accruals, forecasting, BvAs)
- Provide oversight over major programs to ensure technical delivery (e.g., new product launches)
- Directly supports team contract and vendor management including onboarding and offboarding of resources
- Primary PPM liaison for TechOps IT innovation projects
- Accountable for Cell Therapy IT budget that rolls up to the Gilead ITLT
- Understand business processes and regulatory environment
- Accountable and responsible to assess impact of IT Enterprise (either Gilead of Kite
- Vendor Management for Managed Services support partners and/or IT partners
- Provide IT Project Management for global implementations of Global Programs
- PhD and 2 years of relevant experience OR
- MA/MS in a business or technical discipline and 8 years of relevant experience OR
- BA/BS in in a business or technical discipline and 10 years of relevant experience OR
- High School degree and 14 years of relevant experience
- Masters or Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Biology, Chemistry, Business, Program Management, or Computer/Information Sciences
- MBA or any advanced certification will be a plus
- 8 years experience in people management, leadership, and developing teams
- Six Sigma Black Belt or similar qualification will be a plus
