Job Summary
As the Procurement Manager of Packaging, you will report directly to the Director of Supply Chain & Procurement and drive the national sourcing strategy for KIVA’s packaging needs. This individual is a cross functional leader, interfacing with Marketing, Sales, Finance, R&D, Manufacturing and Operations to create a world class Supply Chain strategy that mitigates risk and drives consistent quality and cost efficiencies through powerful rapport-building and negotiation skills with suppliers and internal stakeholders. You will have a strong business acumen, prior packaging experience, and the ability to interface with various functional teams (internal and external) in order to develop and implement processes in an ambiguous problem space.

- Develop and execute a strategy to optimize costs, operational efficiency, quality, and innovation while managing the end-to-end procurement process
- Creating and driving our sourcing and buying plans for existing and emerging product initiatives
- Identifying suppliers that meet the company’s innovation, expansion, and COGS goals
- Leading RFQs/RFPs and contract negotiations with suppliers that ensure optimal quality, cost, payment terms, and timely deliveries for our national packaging procurement needs
- Partnering with Marketing, FSQA, and Operations leaders to drive packaging sourcing strategies
- Driving continuous improvement to our replenishment and sourcing strategy; make continuous improvement recommendations to Ops and Leadership members as necessary
- Managing buyer/planners to oversee the execution of our sourcing strategy and day-to-day processes to streamline packaging operations
- Developing and sharing sourcing insights to brand, innovation, and marketing teams in order to drive margin savings while delivering best-in-class results
- Providing reports, analysis and requested information to management as needed
- Being a key-stakeholder in the development of our MRP system
- Analyze competitive pricing and terms to ensure competitive advantage
- Keep abreast of industry trends and best practices for procurement and packaging, staying abreast of global and domestic issues that risk COGS and inventory
- 5 years of procurement management experience, particularly in packaging
- Proven track record of successful contract negotiations for material goods in a cost-conscious manufacturing or CPG environment
- Experience in fast-moving consumer goods or manufacturing industry
- Previous experience working with MRP systems
- Ability to model cost and inventory scenarios
- Thrives at fostering internal and external business relationships
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills, with the ability to proactively effectively engage others to resolve issues
- Strong process-centric background
- Flexible and able to work within ambiguity
- Adopts analytical thinking to solve issues with accurate data and analysis
- Must work well in a fast paced, rapid growth, evolving environment
- Advanced knowledge of supply chain/inventory systems, with proficiency for analysis and modeling and creative thinking
