Overview:
Klamath Union High School is seeking a motivated and dedicated High School Math Teacher to join our academic team for the 2025-2026 school year. The ideal candidate will be qualified to teach a range of high school mathematics courses, including Algebra I, Geometry, and Algebra II. Key Responsibilities:
- Teach high school math courses, including Algebra I, Geometry, and Algebra II, aligned with state standards and district curriculum.
- Develop and implement engaging lesson plans that foster student understanding and build a strong foundation in mathematics.
- Utilize a variety of instructional strategies, including differentiated instruction, to meet the diverse needs of students.
- Assess student performance through assignments, quizzes, tests, and projects, and provide timely, constructive feedback.
- Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages student participation and critical thinking.
- Maintain accurate records of student progress in the learning management system and communicate effectively with students, parents, and colleagues.
- Collaborate with other math teachers, administrators, and staff to develop curriculum and support student achievement.
- Participate in professional development opportunities to stay current with best practices in teaching mathematics.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with students, parents, and the community to support student growth.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience teaching high school math courses, particularly Algebra I, Geometry, and Algebra II.
- Familiarity with Common Core State Standards and proficiency in preparing students for standardized testing.
- Ability to incorporate technology into math instruction, including online learning tools and virtual platforms.
- Experience working with diverse student populations, including English Language Learners and students with IEPs.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with students, staff, and families.
