We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Feed Mill Operator to join our team for 2nd shift operations. As a Feed Mill Operator, you will play a vital role in the daily operations of our feed mill, ensuring the safe and efficient production of high-quality animal feed. You will be responsible for operating machinery, monitoring production processes, and maintaining equipment, all while adhering to safety and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate and monitor feed mill machinery, including grinders, mixers, and pelletizers, to ensure proper production of animal feed.
- Follow feed formulations and recipes to accurately mix ingredients and ensure product consistency.
- Inspect and maintain equipment, performing routine checks and cleaning tasks to minimize downtime.
- Monitor and adjust machinery settings to optimize production efficiency and quality.
- Handle raw materials and ingredients safely, ensuring proper storage, labeling, and handling procedures are followed.
- Conduct quality control checks throughout the production process to ensure feed meets the required specifications.
- Troubleshoot and resolve equipment malfunctions or production issues in a timely manner.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment, ensuring compliance with safety and hygiene standards.
- Document production data, including quantities produced, material usage, and equipment maintenance, in accordance with company protocols.
- Assist in unloading and loading raw materials and finished products, ensuring proper handling and storage.
- Collaborate with other team members to ensure smooth operations and meet production goals.
- Comply with all safety regulations and company policies, including wearing proper personal protective equipment (PPE).
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional training or certifications in agriculture or manufacturing is a plus.
- Previous experience in a feed mill or manufacturing environment preferred, but not required.
- Knowledge of feed production processes, machinery, and equipment is a plus.
- Ability to operate and troubleshoot milling equipment and machinery.
- Strong attention to detail, with the ability to follow instructions and adhere to quality standards.
- Ability to work independently and in a team-oriented environment.
- Good communication and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physical tasks.
- Flexibility to work 2nd shift hours, including evenings and weekends as needed.
- Must be able to pass a background check and drug test.
