KCG is seeking a Systems Engineer to join our team.
Responsibilities
Related activities to include, but not limited to:
- Analyzes, evaluates, and integrates solutions to unusually complex technical problems. Encourages optimum design within customer specifications, quality standards, schedule, and funding limitations
- Performs complex analysis on projects or major phases of significant projects to enhance the technical and economic development of the product and/or service
- Resolves a variety of technical problems leading to advanced engineering studies designed to increase efficiency or reduce costs
- Utilizes design trade studies to identify the design that provides the best combination of cost and effectiveness. This shall include preparing design trade study reports, which documents the methodology, assumptions, and justification for selection of the proposed solution
- Determines the feasibility of proposed systems, assesses performance against requirements, cost and schedule feasibility, and identifies potential technology needs and scope
- Employs the latest tools and techniques to develop models for developed and supported systems, such as MBSE
- Identifies and documents system-level qualities, properties, characteristics, functions, behavior, and performance
- Designs, modifies or reverse engineers systems to maintain interoperability with existing systems
- Completes detailed design of the system, fabricates hardware, and generates final designs for each system component end-product
- Assists with the generation of specific products or systems through buying, making, or reusing to satisfy the design requirements. To include reviewing vendor technical information; and inspecting delivered, built, or reused products
- Ensures verified end-item satisfies the stakeholder expectations for its intended use. This includes conducting product validation, performing product validation, analyzing the results of validation, and preparing a product validation report providing the evidence of product conformance with the stakeholder expectations baseline
- Performs PAT-E/ FAT of systems, equipment, components, and items demonstrate test-subjects meet requirements and specifications
- Assists with risk management planning. To include planning and performing risk-handling activities, developing the strategy for technical risk management, identifying technical risks, and conducting technical risk assessments. As well as preparing for technical risk mitigation, monitoring the status of each technical risk, and implementing technical risk mitigation and contingency action plans
- Monitors progress of the technical effort and provide status information for support of the system design, product realization, and technical management efforts. This includes developing technical assessment strategies and policies, assessing technical work productivity, assessing product quality, tracking and trending technical metrics, and conducting technical, peer, and life cycle reviews
- Participates in working groups associated with tasking under this contract
- Identifies when an ECP is required for existing systems and proposes to the government a recommended design solution
Requirements:
- Bachelors Degree in Systems, Mechanical, Electrical or Computer Engineering
- Ten (10 ) years- of experience at the systems level in any of the following areas:
- Requirements Definition
- System Design Parameters
- Concepts Operation
- Risk Assessment
- Productivity Studies/Analyses
- Performance Analyses
- Test and Evaluation
- Post-Delivery Support
- Minimum Certification as 632 (or similar) at the Intermediate level per DoDD 8140.01
- Demonstrated proficiency analyzing projects or major phases of significant projects to enhance the technical and economic development of the product
- Demonstrated ability to design, modify, and/or reverse engineer systems to maintain interoperability
- Experience creating:
- Technical Data Packages (TDPs)
- Product Verification Reports
- Analysis of Alternatives (AoA-s)
- Design Trade Studies
- Engineering Change Proposals (ECPs)
- Experience with Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE)
- Possess a current Department of Defense (DoD) Secret security clearance
