We’re looking for a dedicated Professional Land Surveyor who recognizes the importance land surveying plays at a multidisciplinary firm like Klingner. You’ll be working on site and in the office on an incredible variety of projects. From determining residential lot corners to staking across the Mississippi, no day will likely be the same. We understand that Land Surveying is the basis for all of our engineering and design work.
Responsibilities:
- Perform and provide control, boundary, topographic, utility, ALTA, Right-of-Way, hydrographic, and construction surveying services.
- Search courthouse records, in-house survey records, road records, and other records relevant to the survey being performed.
- Perform calculations based on field data, research, and other resources as necessary to determine property boundaries.
- Prepare topographic / utility survey drawings.
- Review, sign, and seal plats and other documents for recording and write legal descriptions.
- Perform construction staking and as-built surveys.
- Operate survey-related equipment and software.
- Develop and maintain relationships with clients.
- Assist in the preparation of proposals, cost estimates, schedules, and invoices.
- Coordinate with office staff members, clients, and other key stakeholders.
- Assist, train, direct, and supervise field crew and office staff members.
- Calibrate, operate, troubleshoot, and maintain survey equipment.
- This is a full-time position, with overtime and bonus pay likely.
Qualifications:
- Must have Professional Land Surveyor license in Illinois, Missouri, and / or Iowa.
- A minimum of two years of survey experience since obtaining licensure is a plus, but not required.
- Good knowledge of Trimble robotic total station and GPS equipment.
- Knowledge of AutoCAD / Civil 3D, Microstation / Geopak, and ArcGIS.
- Knowledge of quality, health, and safety standards.
- Clear written and verbal communication.
- Organizing, prioritizing, and performing work assignments with minimal supervision.
