This role will focus on floodplain modeling, hydrologic and hydraulic analysis, and support for a wide range of water resources and civil engineering projects. Key Responsibilities
- Perform floodplain modeling and mapping using software such as HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS, GeoHECRAS, and related tools
- Conduct hydrologic and hydraulic analyses for stormwater management, stream restoration, drainage systems, and FEMA studies
- Prepare detailed technical reports, modeling summaries, and support regulatory submissions (including CLOMRs and LOMRs)
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including planners, surveyors, CAD technicians, and project managers
- Support permitting efforts with local, state, and federal agencies (e.g., FEMA, USACE, local water authorities)
- Review and interpret FEMA Flood Insurance Rate Maps (FIRMs), Flood Insurance Study (FIS) reports, and related documents
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering or related field (Master’s a plus)
- Professional Engineering License (PE)
- 4 years of relevant experience in water resources engineering
- Proficiency in HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS, GIS, and Civil 3D
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
- Certified Floodplain Manager (CFM) preferred or willingness to obtain
- EIT or PE license is a plus
