Over the years, Paul Marks has grown from a single stall in Boston's Faneuil Hall to New England's leading specialty dairy distributor, while maintaining their ability to offer the quality and personal service they have come to be known for.
Position Overview:
Due to a planned retirement, Paul Marks seeks a finance leader with excellent supervisory and analytical skills to oversee the finance, human resources, and IT departments. This professional will report directly to the President, have a seat at the Executive table, and have a professional presence and demeanor. Upon joining this tight-knit and supportive team, Paul Mark’s new Director of Accounting & Finance will feel welcomed and appreciated.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee all general accounting and financial activities and functions of accounting personnel for the company.
- Manage all relationships with the bank and work closely with all outside vendors.
- Review order entry, accounts payable, and other documents accurately and efficiently.
- Collaborate with the HR department to streamline processes and procedures for 401(k) funding, prescreening applicants, onboarding, employee reviews, and weekly payroll.
- Interact with vendors and outside auditors (Waldron Rand).
- Work cross-functionally with sales, marketing, and senior leadership to provide strategic guidance and financial decision making.
- Responsible for day-end and month-end report initiation and distribution and bank account management.
- Perform bank and credit card reconciliations, journal, and general ledger entries, including payroll, wire transfers, and account transfers online.
Job Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in business, accounting, finance, or equivalent.
- Experience working for a privately held or family-owned business.
- Effective leadership and problem-solving skills; experience in managing a team.
- Strong Excel, ERP implementation, and payroll systems experience.
- Experience in the Food/Beverage Manufacturing industry is a plus.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft operating systems.
- Excellent organizational, communications, and time management skills.
