The Opportunity:
Reporting to a Principal partner, the Director of Accounting & Finance will bring a fresh perspective, leveraging insights to drive business operations. The ideal candidate will be a hands-on advisor to the leadership team, working closely with the CEO and COO on financial matters. As the firm continues to evolve, this leader will have the opportunity to contribute to a culture that values flexibility, innovation, and strong business acumen, making a lasting impact on the company’s growth and financial strategy.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee the financial operations of a growing Civil Engineering firm, ensuring accuracy in financial reporting, budgeting, and forecasting.
- Lead the accounting team, manage month-end and year-end close processes, and maintain compliance within industry regulations.
- Develop financial strategies, monitor cash flow, and provide insights to leadership on profitability, risk management, and operational efficiencies.
- Optimize accounting systems, manage external financial partnerships, and support strategic initiatives to drive the firm’s financial health and long-term success.
- Provide oversight and internal controls for AP, billing, collections, and payroll operations.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (or equivalent combination of education and experience), with at least 10 years of hands-on finance and accounting management experience, including serving as the leading expert on all financial matters.
- Experience with automated financial and accounting reporting systems, Deltek Vision or similar project-based ERP systems preferred.
- Familiarity with accounting software implementations and data mapping to optimize financial systems and reporting accuracy.
- Strong interest in technology, software, and AI, to leverage innovative solutions to drive operational efficiencies and propel the company’s business capabilities forward.
