Condado Tacos is an energetic, colorful, fast-paced restaurant specializing in make your own tacos, tequila & margaritas. Since 2014, Condado has grown exponentially to 51 locations across the Midwest and beyond, and they continue to grow with the expectation of additional openings in the future. Condado is seeking a Chief of Development (CoD) who will provide leadership regarding every aspect of new restaurant growth while embracing and promoting a culture that reflects Condado’s core values : Quality, Unique, Empowered, Service, and Opportunity.

Condado is open to relocating the right candidate (Columbus, OH). The job is hybrid, with an on-site schedule four days a week.

Position Overview :

The Chief of Development (CoD), reporting to CEO, plays a hands-on role in every stage of new restaurant growth and strategy. From market analysis and site selection to overseeing real estate, and construction, the CoD ensures all efforts align with Condado Tacos' strategic goals. The CoD will also supervise the maintenance, care, and efficient operations of restaurant facilities, support center and commissary used by the Organization. This position is key to driving the brand’s expansion while preserving its distinctive character, dedication to quality, and meaningful community connections.

Duties / Responsibilities :

  • Collaborate with executive leadership to define the organization's long-term mission and goals; identify ways to support this mission by developing and executing strategic growth strategies to expand Condado Tacos in established and emerging markets.
  • Partner with executive leadership, clients, and investors to set and achieve clear, actionable short- and long-term development objectives.
  • Conduct in-depth market research to identify prime locations that align with the brand’s target audience and positioning.
  • Oversee the site selection process, ensuring that new locations meet strategic goals and performance expectations.
  • Negotiate real estate deals, including leases and acquisitions, to secure high-visibility, cost-effective locations.
  • Collaborate with design and brand teams to maintain the vibrant, eclectic aesthetic that defines the Condado Tacos dining experience.

Required Skills / Abilities :

  • At least ten years of experience in strategic development roles, including real estate, construction, and / or franchise operations, with a preference for experience in the restaurant or hospitality sector.
  • Proven track record of leading successful multi-location expansion initiatives.
  • Strong knowledge of real estate negotiations, zoning laws, and project management.
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, or related field required; Master’s degree highly preferred.
