Chest Medicine Associates, a medical practice specializing in Pulmonary, Sleep, and Critical Care Medicine, is seeking a part-time or per diem Pulmonary Function Technologist to be based in the South Portland office.
\n- Currently maintains or is eligible to earn the credentials of CPFT /RPFT
- Current Basic Life Support certificate
- Ability to work onsite in South Portland, Maine. This is a weekday position with no night responsibilities.
- Part-time or per diem daytime shifts. 1-3 shifts per week which could include Saturday if desired.

- Obtains vital signs and arterial blood gas specimens.
- Performs pulmonary function tests, including spirometry with bronchodilator, plethysmography, diffusing capacity, methacholine challenge, MVV and respiratory muscle strength measurements, high altitude simulation, exercise oximetry, and 6-minute walk tests.
- Documents testing and care in electronic medical record.
- Prepares, maintains, and calibrates pulmonary function testing equipment.
- Ensures quality control.
- Completes preventative maintenance requirements.
- Follows manufacturer's instructions; troubleshoots malfunctions; calls for repairs; and orders supplies.
- Maintains patient confidence and protects practice operations by keeping information confidential.
- Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
- Other duties and/or projects as assigned.
