About the job:
Environmental Analysts to work in the Phase I/II Assessments & Remediation Division in our Melville, New York office for an immediate start. NPV is an environmental planning firm with offices in Melville and the lower Hudson Valley providing a wide range of professional consulting services.
Responsibilities/Top Skills/Qualifications:
· Conduct fieldwork under the supervision of an environmental professional who meets ASTM standards, including site inspections to identify Recognized Environmental Conditions (RECs) for the preparation of ESAs.
· Assist with soil and groundwater sampling and soil classification borings.
· Operate ground penetrating radar (GPR) and other testing equipment.
· Prepare sections of Phase I and II ESA reports, ensuring compliance with ASTM standards.
· Working on a drill rig for soil and groundwater sample collection and completing structural and soil classification borings.
· 5 or more years of experience performing Phase I and Phase II environmental site assessments.
· Knowledge of ASTM Standards and the Unified Soil Classification System (USCS).
· OSHA 40-hour HAZWOPER certification, with annual 8-hour refresher course, as applicable.
· 10- or 30-hour construction safety certification.
· Proficiency with sample collection equipment, GPR, and GPS equipment.
· Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
· Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
· Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
· Proficiency in AutoCad or GIS is beneficial.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $60,000.00 - $130,000.00 per year
