Summary / Objective:

This team provides support in the areas of Administration, Program Management, Engineering, and Logistics Programs associated with life cycle maintenance, modernization, and modification of Naval ships, unique platforms, new construction units and support facilities for Submarine Maintenance Engineering, Planning and Procurement (SUBMEPP), an independent field activity of the Naval Sea Systems (NAVSEA) Command that is aligned under Program Executive Office Attack Submarines (PEO SSN). SUBMEPP’s mission is to keep assigned Naval ships and submersibles safe, reliable, and affordable through use of its engineered life cycle maintenance and modernization products and services. SUBMEPP performs technical duties and responsibilities to provide and maintain engineered life cycle maintenance products in direct support of the Fleet, shipyards, industrial facilities, and NAVSEA.

General Duties or Experience:

Logisticians integrate the spectrum of the logistics processes within the operational, acquisition and wholesale environments. Logisticians are responsible for directing the integrated logistics process, developing support policies, procedures and systems, and providing implementation guidance. The Logistician prepares and implements directives to ensure effective logistics support, and establishes and enforces standards to ensure that the assigned work force is properly trained and equipped. It is the Logistician's duty to develop, initiate, integrate and manage all logistics actions associated with life cycle management of submarine systems, subsystems and equipment.

Duties include:

• Managing Inventory and control of calibrated test equipment.
• Managing inventory and issuance of submarine regional loan pool equipment.
• Packaging and coordination of the delivery of test equipment and material associated with modernization.
• Coordination with regional submarines to coordinate calibration exchanges.
• Support local Material, Material and Management (3M) Inspections.
• Distribute training documentation.

Required education:

Logistician II: High school/vocational school degree or GED certificate.

Logistician III: High school/vocational school degree or GED certificate.

Required experience:

Logistician II: 7 years professional experience in integrated logistics support.

Logistician III: 15 years professional experience in integrated logistics support.

Preferred education and experience:

• Experience coordinating Navy General Purpose Test Equipment (GPTE) or calibration pools.

Additional eligibility requirements

Work authorization/security clearance requirements:

• An active or current DoD Secret security clearance.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:

The typical workday is eight hours in length. Some flexibility in hours is allowed, with concurrence from the supervisor. Attendance at prescheduled mandatory meetings is required. Must be available during the core work hours as determined by your contract/location and must account for the required number of hours in a pay period to maintain Full-time status.

Telework:

• This position may allow for up to 20% telework.

Travel:

• Ability to travel CONUS; potential to travel OCONUS
• Travel up to 10% may be required.
