Excavation Foreman

Job Summary

KN Excavation is seeking an experienced Excavation Foreman to oversee and manage all on-site activities related to our excavation projects. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in excavation, excellent leadership skills, and the ability to manage a team effectively to ensure that projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate the activities of the excavation crew, including equipment operators, laborers, and subcontractors.
• Read and interpret blueprints, plans, and specifications to ensure that work is completed according to project requirements.
• Monitor work progress and adjust work schedules as necessary to meet project deadlines.
• Ensure that all work is performed in compliance with safety regulations and company policies.
• Maintain detailed records of work performed, materials used, and time spent on each task.
• Communicate regularly with the superintendent and project managers to provide updates on project status.
• Oversee the maintenance and operation of excavation equipment, ensuring that all machinery is in good working condition.
• Assist in the training and development of crew members.
  
  

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in excavation or related field.
• Proven leadership experience with the ability to manage and motivate a team.
• Strong knowledge of excavation techniques, equipment, and safety procedures.
• Ability to read and interpret construction plans and blueprints.
• GPS/Machine Control experience is a plus.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
• CDL (Commercial Driver’s License) is a plus.

• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physical labor.
