Position Overview:
The Quality Manager is responsible for ensuring that all Knapheide products and processes meet high-quality standards, driving continuous improvement, and maintaining quality records for internal and customer use. This role is critical in upholding quality to satisfy customer requirements, resolving issues promptly, and effectively communicating resolutions to the applicable departments.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership & Management:
- Lead and communicate the vision and direction of the Quality Department.
- Manage and develop the Quality team, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.
- Support end-to-end site quality, from Fabrication through Shipping.
- Develop and foster a Quality Assurance Mindset, focusing on proactive improvements rather than reactive fixes.
- Ensure data impacts decision-making rather than just reporting numbers.
- Drive the implementation of Quality Roadmap initiatives.
- Lead and collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve quality across the organization.
- Maintain strong customer interface & involvement, ensuring their expectations are met or exceeded.
Technical Knowledge & Skills:
- Develop, improve, and sustain a Quality Management System (QMS) that translates organizational goals into policies, procedures, and systems.
- Ensure compliance with ISO 9001:2008 standards and familiarity with internal audit systems.
- Utilize problem-solving methodologies such as Root Cause & Corrective Action (RCCA), 8D analysis, and Statistical Process Control (SPC).
- Leverage data analysis to drive decisions and continuous improvement.
- Manage quality systems, including the Ticket Portal App System and Production Part Approval Process (PPAP).
- Organize technical communication to maximize problem-solving effectiveness.
- Champion root cause investigations and corrective actions necessary to enhance customer satisfaction.
Internal Company Knowledge:
- Maintain deep product knowledge and workmanship standards with the ability to apply them without bias.
- Understand core manufacturing and quality processes to identify and address potential quality concerns proactively.
- Build and maintain strong internal relationships to drive quality improvements across departments.
- Develop expertise in company systems, applications, and documentation related to quality control and assurance.

Physical/Mental Requirements:
Normal standing, bending, walking, and lifting associated with an office and manufacturing environment. Must be able to verbally communicate with individuals at all levels of the organization.
Salary : $80,000 - $115,000
