What are the responsibilities and job description for the Mechanical Assembler position at KNDS?
Wegmann USA, Inc. is seeking an Assembler responsible for the assembly of components and mechanical sub-assemblies, as well as final assemblies in accordance with established procedures, and blueprints/drawings. Assembler are required to maintain a neat, well organized work area and maintain minimal paperwork/computer inputs.
The successful candidate will have 2 years of assembly experience, basic mechanical knowledge, and the ability to read and understand assembly drawings. Candidates must be able to lift up to 50 pounds, drive a forklift, operate an overhead crane, and use torque wrenches along with other hand tools. The successful candidate will have a high school diploma or equivalent.
Experience in the following areas is required:
· use of basic hand tools such as wrenches, screwdrivers, drills…etc.
Experience in the following areas is helpful:
· soldering
· reading wiring schematics
· sheet metal fabrication
· installing rivets and /or Heli-coils
· use of basic measuring instruments (calipers, micrometers…)
· gluing / bonding
· use of a hydraulic press
