What are the responsibilities and job description for the REGION ASSET MANAGER position at Knife River Corporation - NW?
We are currently hiring for Regional Asset Manager. The successful candidate could be stationed in Medford, Tangent, Portland or Bend.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:
- Provide senior asset management and oversight to/of:
- all Regional operations to maximize utilization and manage costs
- all assets (rolling stock, portable production plants, etc.)
- all purchasing and utilization of National Accounts
- all equipment, leasing, shop facilities and maintenance personnel in region
- Oversee capital expenditure process including budgeting, procurement, and project management
- Responsible for:
- the profit and loss of all equipment pools in the region.
- training and education of proper equipment operations (including CAT training)
- fuel purchasing and fuel optimization program
- development of equipment replacement schedule based on KRC useful life guidelines
- Review corporate fleets and make recommendations as necessary; Provide input on corporate asset management as requested
- Assure fleet compliance; including work with operations to assure regulatory compliance and all Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations
- Support operations through high level of customer service to Operations Vice-Presidents and Managers
- Work across and with other regions to maximize KRC equipment utilization
- High level management responsibilities for Shop(s) including:
- Developing safety awareness programs for shop/field mechanics; participate in DuPont Audits
- Participate in the review of any accident or near miss involving shop personnel
- Review Shop and Pool P&L with each location management team
- Coordinate Shop annual budget process and establish long term targets
- Work with Operations on all major repairs and PM’s and to manage monthly expenses
- Provide guidance on shop scheduling and workload and monitor all yard activities and housekeeping in shop areas
- Work with Vendors on repairs and service contracts; assist in resolving service issues
- Assist with training schedules for all mechanic and operators
- High level management responsibilities for Purchasing & Inventory
Minimum Qualifications:
- Minimum of 5 years experience in a management level position in plant, equipment and maintenance or other relevant field
- Must have a current, valid driver’s license and maintain acceptable driving record
- Must be available to travel approximately 40% of the time
- Computer literacy using Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel
- Strong leadership skills
Preferred Qualifications:- Business, Facilities, or Management related coursework or degree
- Experience using equipment tracking systems, reporting systems, and fuel management systems
- Prior experience as a heavy equipment mechanic or knowledge of machine systems and shop repair process
- Experience negotiating, sales, purchasing of construction related equipment
