Description
Knight Material Technologies, LLC, has an immediate career opportunity for a Chemical Engineer to join our team based in Canton, OH. The Chemical Engineer is responsible for performing engineering design calculations and preparing engineering design documentation for client projects which will be constructed from the engineering package. In addition, the role will require frequent collaboration with the other engineering and design disciplines (mechanical, structural, electrical, instrumentation, and design) to ensure a high quality, comprehensive design is prepared. Other tasks will include working across disciplines, performing project engineering tasks, and providing supplemental project management support.
Responsibilities:
- Complete tasks requiring accuracy in calculations and completeness of data
- Perform process calculations to evaluate or validate process design.
- Perform sizing calculations for packed towers and associated mass transfer internals and other equipment that projects may need.
- Demonstrate a safety mindset both on and off the job.
- Work with clients, contractors, project managers and engineering disciplines to ensure the project execution plan is effective, comprehensive, reasonable, and obtainable.
- Potential to lead and manage small projects.
- Problem-solving skills to be able to resolve simple problems quickly and effectively
- Basic self-direction and responsibility for own tasks, deliverables, and timelines
- Basic leadership skills and some general experience leading work groups or task forces in specific projects
- Helping to prepare project funding documents such as cost estimates, equipment bid summaries and authorization requests
- Potential for 10% travel to project sites
- Performs additional duties as assigned
Requirements
Required:
- Ability to lead and facilitate team projects
- Strong root cause and corrective action methodologies
- Experience managing data in Microsoft Office 365 products
- Bachelor’s degree in related engineering discipline required.
- At least three years of experience in project management, engineering, systems design, or another related field.
Preferred Skills and Experience:
- Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Experience in engineering/specification of process equipment

- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer
- Must be able to lift 30 pounds at times
