Job Responsibilities: What you will do

Oversee the applications organization's successful delivery and benefits realization of these business outcomes. Oversee all activities that optimize the value, cost and risk of applications. Ensure the applications meet the needs of the business as a whole. In partnership with peers in IT, organize the exploration of innovative ideas related to transportation of goods.

• Oversee assigned application team ensuring appropriately staffed, operating within budget constraints and that application deliveries meet organizational requirements and exceed expectations.
• Ensure assigned employees have career development plans that provide the organization with strong bench strength for future leaders and specialized individual contributors.
• Provide a visionary road map for assigned application development team that provides innovative solutions for all businesses and brands and ensures integration with overall IT and enterprise strategic plans.
• Ensure the assigned application group develops processes and tools that contribute to the company business objectives.
• Collaborate with other leaders and/or stakeholders and develop an application development strategy that aligns with business strategy, adds value and is within budget constraints.
• Ensure that all application processes developed internally or by an external service providers are conducted in line with corporate social responsibility, environmental and technical policies and applicable standards and legislation.
• Implement and manage application life cycle management status reporting, metrics and benchmarks.
• Develop and enhance methodologies and practices for the application life cycle management in line with best practice and practical experience of continuous improvement.
• Manage relationships with major vendors and service providers to ensure they cost-effectively meet the needs of the organization.
• Oversee the assessment of the technical and business fitness of the application portfolio and their associated costs and risks.
• In partnership with Infrastructure and IT Security, ensure that the organization's applications are effectively secured and that risks are mitigated and comply with legal and corporate privacy and confidentiality rules.
• Proactively work to assist others in achieving the organization's objective.

Qualifications: What you need to bring

• 12 years of experience in all phases of application development and life cycle required.
• 6 years progressively responsible leadership experience required.
• Experience with Agile Methodology.
• Experience with iSeries and RPG Development.
• Experience with Web Development.
• Previous experience working in Transportation/Logistics industry preferred.
• Bachelors degree in related field or equivalent combination of education and/or experience required.
• Masters preferred.
• Must possess an understanding of strategic business objectives and the ability to drive results toward those objectives.
• Must possess proven ability to collaborate, build relationships and influence individuals at all levels in a matrix-management environment, including external vendors and service providers.
• Must possess strong communication skills with a proven ability to understand key concepts and communicate effectively with technical staff, business stakeholders and senior management.
• Must possess high levels of personal integrity when conducting the professional affairs of the organization and dealing with sensitive and confidential data relating to risks and cost.
  
  

Pay Range: $142,500.00 - $197,500.00 Annual
