Job Overview:

Knightscope is seeking an FP&A Manager to work closely with the CFO and VP of Accounting. This individual will take charge of financial planning and analysis activities, including overseeing monthly reporting, forecasting, and the annual budgeting process. The role requires collaboration across various departments to integrate financial data, analyze trends, and provide actionable insights to senior management. The FP&A Manager will also manage ad hoc reporting, support investor relations, and prepare presentations for the Board of Directors.

 

You are a highly driven, motivated, and results-oriented individual with a strong attention to detail. As the first hire in this position, you will establish the foundation for strategic financial forecasting, budgeting, and data-driven decision-making to support the company’s continued growth as a publicly listed entity. You will work closely with senior leadership to develop financial models, analyze data, and drive business strategy. This position demands strong GAAP accounting knowledge to navigate complex transactions and ensure accurate financial reporting.  

 

Responsibilities:

  • Financial Modeling & Forecasting: Develop and maintain robust financial models to support budgeting, forecasting, and long-term planning efforts.
  • Budgeting & Planning: Lead the company’s annual budgeting process and ongoing forecasting activities, including operating expense, capital expenditure, and revenue planning.
  • Data Analysis & Reporting: Perform ad-hoc financial analysis to provide insight into key business drivers, identify risks, and highlight opportunities for improvement.
  • Financial Reporting: Prepare and present monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports, dashboards, and performance metrics to senior management, board members, and investors.
  • Strategic Decision-Making: Provide decision support and scenario analysis to key stakeholders across the organization. Drive financial discipline across the company, ensuring that business decisions are supported by strong financial analysis and forecasting.
  • Collaborate with Accounting to ensure accurate general ledger reconciliation and support financial audits. Support audit requests and ensure compliance with internal financial reporting controls.
  • Prepare materials for investor decks and Board of Directors presentations.

 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting or related field required.
  • A minimum of 4 years of FP&A and accounting experience.
  • Proven experience with financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and data analysis.
  • Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP and public company financial requirements.
  • Advanced Excel skills, including proficiency with macros and financial modeling.
  • Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Experience with ERP and reporting software (NetSuite is preferred).
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively across all organizational levels.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment with multiple competing deadlines.
