Job Description: BIM/VDC Manager (Construction Site-Focused)
KNL is on the lookout for a BIM/VDC Manager to join our team, operating directly onsite with our client. This role is key to bridging the gap between digital modeling and real-world construction execution. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in BIM coordination and VDC integration while also being comfortable working onsite to support field teams with model-based construction workflows.
Key Responsibilities:
-BIM & VDC Coordination
- Develop and maintain BIM models for project planning, clash detection, and coordination.
- Implement 4D scheduling and 5D cost estimation workflows where applicable.
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and trades to ensure digital models align with field conditions.
- Utilize Revit, Navisworks, AutoCAD, and BIM 360 for model updates and project coordination
-Field Integration & Site Support
- Work onsite with superintendents, subcontractors, and tradespeople to ensure BIM data translates accurately into construction activities.
- Conduct onsite model validation using laser scanning, AR tools, or other verification methods.
- Assist field teams in accessing and interpreting digital models for layout, sequencing, and clash resolution.
- Utilize Procore, Trimble, or other construction site tools for model-based tracking and documentation.
-Process Improvement & Training
- Develop and enforce BIM standards and best practices to improve efficiency.
- Provide training and support for site teams on BIM/VDC tools and workflows.
- Stay updated on emerging construction technology trends and recommend improvements for digital construction processes.
Basic Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Architecture, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent work experience
- 4 years of experience in BIM coordination and VDC integration in a construction environment.
- Proficiency in Revit, Navisworks, BIM 360, and AutoCAD.
- Experience working onsite with field teams to implement BIM-based workflows.
- Familiarity with Procore, Trimble, or similar field applications is a plus.
- Strong understanding of construction sequencing, clash detection, and digital workflows.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate with both office and field personnel.
