What are the responsibilities and job description for the Production Assistant/Chocolate Maker position at Knoke's Chocolates and Nuts?

Job tasks/abilities:
- Know and understand (with training) the production schedule/needs and recipes with other team members.
- Able to make recipe items with the assistance of other team members.
- Anticipate product and ingredient needs for efficient ordering purposes.
- Check orders for the day/week/month and set up a timeline and production schedule.
- Maintain sanitation and orderliness of all equipment, supplies and utensils within work area. As well as understands and practices proper sanitation procedures and ensures the work area is always clean and neat.
- Physical demands include: May be required to stand for long periods of time. May involve repetitive motions. Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Perform production duties such as manual lifting, packaging, taping, labeling and sorting.
- Perform basic visual quality inspections on products.
- Lead tasks and projects to increase/maintain efficiency
- Work with and guide other team members or new members
- May include occasional light janitorial tasks
About us:
We are a large-scale chocolate making and nut roasting facility serving several wholesale companies and our retail store. In 2014 Knoke’s Chocolates and Nuts opened a production warehouse where our team of 5-10 production staff work to make 50 products plus many seasonal items for our retail shop and multiple corporate/wholesale clients. We specialize in producing several varieties of high-quality decadent candies including, truffles, toffee, brittle, caramels and more. Our continued growth leads us to require another full-time large-scale candy maker!
Hours:
- Hours vary 35-42 hours weekly depending on the season:
- slow season 4 days a week (spring/summer)
- busy season 5-days a week (fall/winter)
Preferred qualifications/experience:
- Shipping department experience
- Large scale food service/baker/pasty experience and knowledge is a plus!
- Good at multitasking
- Bilingual in Spanish & English!

Pay: $18.00 - $20.00 per hour
