Overview
Directs and coordinates processing operations and labor in assigned department. Maintains working knowledge of all processing equipment, products produced, and specific job duties in assigned department. Monitors operations and surveys area for potential problems. Responsible for overall product quality. Reports any concerns or signs of raw material or finished product tampering to the Supervisor immediately. Coordinates and checks line changeover activities. Makes mechanical adjustments and performs light equipment maintenance. Coordinates labor assignments and replacements within processing area. Checks area employee safety equipment and adherence to safety procedures. Trains new personnel. Completes appropriate paperwork. (This does not include signing disciplinary action and/or performance evaluation paperwork.) Must be available to work all shifts as required.
Bi-lingual is a plus.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following.

1. Maintains working knowledge of all processing equipment, products produced, and specific job duties in department of responsibility. Directs and coordinates operations and labor in assigned department. Monitors and surveys area for potential problems. Must be available to work all shifts as required.
2. Adjusts area processing based upon quality and line inspection feedback to ensure production of quality products.
3. Trains personnel on specific job operations and assists in yearly employee performance evaluations.
Recommends personnel for promotion, disciplinary action, and evaluates performance of new hires.
4. Completes required production paperwork related to material/ingredient usage, equipment downtime reports, and production count reports.
5. Responsible for overall product quality. Signs-off on quality paperwork for line checks and product grades.
6. Coordinates and checks line changeover activities related to mechanical equipment changes, belt installation, conveyor adjustments, and line speed adjustments. Coordinates with area mechanic for equipment malfunctions. Performs light equipment maintenance, such as machine lubrication or video jet maintenance.
7. Requests work order generation for processing equipment potential problems identified during line operations.
8. Coordinates labor assignments and placements within processing area to ensure efficient line operations. Completes time cards and files leave requests.
9. Conducts spot check of area employee safety equipment and adherence to safety procedures. Conducts safety briefings.
10. Reports any Food Quality or Food Safety concerns to the Supervisor immediately.
