What are the responsibilities and job description for the Environment, Health and Safety Manager position at KnowHireMatch?
About the Company:
My client is a smaller, privately-owned manufacturing company with about 500 employees. They manufacture a variety of their own specialty chemicals as well as doing toll manufacturing. Over the last several years they have been growing very quickly and that growth continues. This role is open as a reflection of that growth - up until now, their risk manager was handling these responsibilities, but it has grown to the point where this can be its own full-time role.
About the Role:
This is more of a 'program manager' role, there are no direct reports as of now. This person will oversee regulatory aspects related to safety, health and environmental at the site (specifically the specialty chemical plant), with an initial focus on the first two (H & S). "E" is being handled by a third party contractor, but the eventual goal is to bring that permitting and compliance work in-house. The site is ISO14001 and ISO9001 and this person will oversee compliance for those, as well as their OSHA compliance.
Requirements:
- B.S. degree in Safety, Health, or Engineering
- 5 years of health and safety experience in a chemical manufacturing plant
- Should have a CSP or CIH certification; this isn't an absolute requirement, but a significant 'plus'.
- Need someone who is a self-starter and who is able to gain buy-in from people by being an effective champion of these programs throughout the facility
- Minimal travel associated with this role
Compensation:
- Base salary target is in the $120K-$140K range, bonus eligible, 401K eligible
- Company pays 100% of health insurance premiums for employees
- Company car or car allowance is offered with this position
- Relocation assistance will be offered and will be determined on a case-by-case basis to fit the needs of the person moving to take this role
Salary : $120,000 - $140,000
