The Nutritionist positions will be required to review and evaluate the food service operation and nutrition components of childcare centers, after school programs, day care homes, and adult day care participating in the Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP) in the NYS Metropolitan Region. The Nutritionist positions will conduct on-site program reviews to evaluate food service activities and provide training and technical assistance on CACFP record keeping, meal planning and program regulations to ensure compliance with Federal and State regulations. This position will not supervise.
Candidates should have experience completing the following tasks:
Conducting program monitoring to ensure compliance with Federal regulations in the Metropolitan
NY region.
Providing nutrition program guidance and technical assistance.
Conducting training related to menu planning, food service operations and maintaining required
records consistent with the Child and Adult Care Food Program regulations.
Experience working for a federally funded child nutrition program, such as the Child and Adult Care
Food Program.
Experience analyzing results of on-site reviews and preparing written reports on a wide range of
nutrition related tasks to support contracted operations.
Experience using Microsoft Office Programs in addition to an online payment processing system such
as the Child and Adult Care Food Program Information and Payment System, and management storage
systems such as, Docstar eFile Management Software.
Candidates must be Registered Dietitians with the Commission on Dietetic Registration.
Position Hours: 8-hour shift between the hours of 8 am – 5:30 pm, at the discretion of the hiring unit
Days of the week requested: Monday – Friday, excluding New York State Holidays
Shift (Day, Night, Weekend; full-time or part-time): Day; Full-Time
