Executive Secretaries and Administrative Assistants-15898
Administrative Assistant positions needed in the Criminal History and Records Check (CHRC) Bureau located at the Department of Health's Center for Health Care Provider Services and Oversight, 875 Central Avenue, Albany, NY 12206.
Duties:
The Criminal History and Records Check Bureau is responsible for assisting various New York State provider entities complete mandatory Criminal History Record Checks. The candidates will adhere to program guidelines and perform clerical functions including answering phone calls from multiple internal and external stakeholders, processing incoming faxes, and responding to stakeholder e-mails. Candidates must perform data entry into various databases and provide analysis of entered data. Candidates may be asked to perform special assignments, and other administrative functions in support of the Bureau.
Required Qualifications:
Work hours are Monday - Friday between 8:00am and 5:00pm, typically 8:45am-4:45pm with a half-hour unpaid lunch break, totaling 7.5 work hours per day and 37.5 work hours per week.
Candidates may be asked to work nights and weekends as needed.

Required Qualifications:
- High School Diploma (or equivalent); and
- One (1) year minimum experience working in an office setting; and
- One (1) year minimum experience working in a customer service-related field; and
- One (1) year minimum experience in data entry; and
- Proficient in Microsoft applications (i.e., Outlook, Excel, Word, etc.)
- Associates Degree or higher
- Experience working in a government agency (i.e., local, state, or federal) or as a Contractor of a government agency
- Background in healthcare administration and/or policies
- Experience working in a fast-paced setting
- Capable of multi-tasking
- Well organized and detail oriented
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- The ability to work alone or as part of a team
- Skilled in working within complex databases
- Proficient in working with Microsoft Access database
