Job Description
Project : Climate Risk Mapping
The Software Analyst will see ESRI ArcGIS Pro and excel to create maps and analyze New York's climate risk to better understand the impacts to DFS regulated entities and the communities it serves. The analysis would inform policy development.
Day-to-Day tasks :
Source, clean, structure data to import to ArcGIS Pro; analyze data using the ArcGIS Pro includes converting excel to tables, join / relate data, create new feature classes and layers, creating maps, etc.; use MS Excel to analyze and manipulate data, synthesize and summarize findings for briefing memos. Interact / collaborate with DFS staff, and U. Albany climate hazards modeling team.
Mandatory Qualifications :
- Software Analyst : Studies the software application domain, prepares software requirements, and specification documents. Liaises between the software users and the software developers. Conveys the demands of software users to the developers. Skills include : working knowledge of software technology; computer programming experience / expertise; general business knowledge; problem solving / reduction skills; interpersonal relation skills; flexibility and adaptability.
