About The Role
Analysts are members of the Research and Insights team and report to the Senior Research Director. They work closely with the project team through all stages of analysis to deliver actionable understanding and insight for our clients. In particular, junior analysts are responsible for using in-house tools and standard analysis practices to code qualitative data, clean up data files, perform quantitative analysis with guidance from senior analysts, and assist with preparing client reports and presentations.

The salary band for this role is $47,000-$66,000 annually and will be commensurate with experience. While this is a remote position, preference will be given to candidates located on the East Coast of the United States, especially in the metropolitan areas of Washington, DC., or New York City.

About The Role

In particular, junior analysts are responsible for using in-house tools and standard analysis practices to code qualitative data, clean up data files, perform quantitative analysis with guidance from senior analysts, and assist with preparing client reports and presentations.
Responsibilities
- Coding of qualitative data
- Perform qualitative and quantitative analysis under the supervision of more senior staff
- Create professional data visualizations to support communicating insights
- Assist with the preparation and packaging of client deliverables
- Conduct desk research on political and social issues. Synthesize research from a number of sources or conduct literature reviews
- Assist with the preparation of surveys and other research materials (e.g., interview moderator guides)
- Assist with recruitment for qualitative and quantitative studies.
Successful candidates will have all of the following:
- Boundless curiosity, passion for the work, and a commitment to learning and growth
- Flexibility and an ability to adapt in a rapidly evolving political and business environment
- Excellent reading and writing skills (in English)
- Some experience in either politics, linguistics, public opinion research, or marketing
- Co-op placements & capstone projects are sufficient for this entry-level position
- Ability to multitask and prioritize while meeting deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- 1 year of experience working with either qualitative or quantitative data is preferred
- Familiarity with data processing and visualization languages and tools such as Python, R, D3, and Tableau is a benefit
- Outstanding communication skills, including verbal, written, and interpersonal skills, are needed. Much of our work depends on responsiveness, timely communication, and clearly and concisely detailing the next steps with internal teams.
