Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled Financial Controller to join our team at Knowledge, Education for Your Success. As a key member of our Finance Department, you will be responsible for planning, organizing, and assisting with all phases of budgetary and accounting functions.
Key Responsibilities
- Accounting Functions: Prepare and maintain accounting files for accounts payable, accounts receivable, grant requirements, and related account journals.
- Financial Reporting: Prepare and maintain monthly financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, budget variance reports, and cash flow statements.
- Auditing and Review: Audit and review financial documents for accuracy and completeness, preparing monthly journal entries, miscellaneous deposits, and coding of documents.
- Grant Management: Reconcile grant-specific expenditures, including Direct Financial Assistance transactions, making and justifying necessary adjustments with proper supporting backup.
- Closing and Audits: Support month-end and year-end close, preparing year-end audit schedules, adjusting journal entries, gathering necessary account information, and requesting annual audits and federal tax returns preparation.
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will need a Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field, with at least three years of experience in a similar position performing higher-level accounting duties, analysis, and records management. Non-profit experience working with grant funds is highly preferred. You must have knowledge of GAAP.
Compensation and Benefits
The estimated salary for this position is $60,000 - $80,000 per year, depending on experience. We offer 100% employer-paid medical, dental, life/AD&D, and vision insurance options for employee-only coverage. A voluntary 403(b) plan is also available. Employees are eligible for enrollment the first of the month following 30 days of employment. We offer 12 paid holidays, vacation, and sick time.
