Job Description:
The Substitute Teacher will be responsible for providing instruction and care to children in the absence of the regular classroom teacher. This role requires flexibility, adaptability, and a passion for working with young children. The Substitute Teacher will work closely with the staff to maintain a positive and engaging learning environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide instruction and support to children in accordance with the curriculum and daily schedule.
- Maintain a safe, clean, and organized classroom environment.
- Follow lesson plans left by the regular teacher or create engaging activities as needed.
- Supervise and ensure the safety of children at all times.
- Communicate effectively with children, staff, and parents.
- Assist with daily routines, including meals, naps, and transitions.
- Implement classroom management strategies to promote positive behavior.
- Follow all policies and procedures of Knowledge Quest Early Childhood Academy.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education or related field preferred.
- Experience working with young children in an educational setting.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to adapt to different classroom environments and follow lesson plans.
- CPR and First Aid certification preferred.
- Background check and clearances required.
