What are the responsibilities and job description for the Intervention Specialist- Preschool position at Knox County Educational Service Center?
Position is open to qualified candidates who are looking to work with young children and families amongst a supportive and positive team. Position is available within the county-wide preschool program in Knox County and provides opportunities for professional growth and development.
Candidate will assess and support young children with developmental delays or disabilities by creating individualized education plans (IEPs), providing targeted interventions, and collaborating with families and school staff to promote the child's optimal development across various domains like physical, cognitive, social, and communication skills; essentially focusing on early intervention to address potential developmental challenges. Candidate will foster a positive learning environment, maintaining student records, and collaborate with parents to support their children's overall development. Working effectively with other preschool teachers, administrators, and specialists to provide comprehensive support for children is necessary.
Required skills and qualifications:
Early childhood education degree: Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education or special education.
Early childhood or special education license issued from the State Board of Education.
Training provided to earn Early Childhood Intervention Specialist license, if needed. Options for travel to classrooms in the county-wide programs in Knox County.
