SUMMARY

We are seeking a highly motivated, team oriented, personable Real Estate Attorney/ Underwriter with a desire to grow with a national title company handling residential and commercial real estate. As a Real Estate Attorney / Underwriter, you will play a critical role in the due diligence process, managing legal risks associated with real estate transactions, and ensuring compliance. You will work closely with Real Estate Attorneys, Realtors and lenders to ensure smooth and successful closings.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Provides legal advice on underwriting issues such as powers of attorney, trust documents, corporate documents, and other various issues as it relates to insuring title to real property.
• Perform title examinations and risk analysis of property titles.
• Underwrite and evaluate property transactions for potential legal and financial risks.
• Collaborate with internal teams, including real estate agents, mortgage lenders, and clients, to facilitate smooth transactions.
• Stay updated on changes in real estate laws and market conditions.

QUALIFICATIONS

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, and/or abilities required.

• Juris Doctorate degree requested.

• Experience in real estate law, title insurance, or underwriting.
• Strong understanding of real estate finance, title processes, and legal regulations.
• Exceptional communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to handle multiple transactions simultaneously and meet tight deadlines.
• Knowledge of relevant software, such as Softpro is a plus.
