Job Description:
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Registered Nurse (RN) - Surgery to join our team in Kalamazoo, MI. This contract position focuses on providing high-quality patient care during surgical procedures on the night shift. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, compassionate, and capable of working in a fast-paced surgical environment.
Responsibilities:
- Provide direct patient care before, during, and after surgical procedures
- Assist the surgical team with preparing the operating room and maintaining a sterile environment
- Monitor patients’ vital signs and ensure patient safety throughout the surgical process
- Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and other healthcare professionals to deliver optimal patient care
- Document patient information accurately and in compliance with healthcare regulations
- Respond to patient needs and emergencies promptly and effectively
- Ensure compliance with hospital policies, procedures, and safety protocols
Qualifications:
- Current and valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Michigan
- Minimum 1 year of surgical or operating room nursing experience preferred
- Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications (required)
- Strong critical thinking, communication, and organizational skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
