What are the responsibilities and job description for the Grounds and Landscaping Crew position at KOA CAMPGROUND?
This is a seasonal position that requires candidates be 18 with a valid driver's license. Our season is May-October. Workdays are Friday, Sunday, and holiday Mondays starting at 9am. Shifts will be 4-8 hours depending on needs of the business. Other departments will have extra hours available if candidate has interest. Background check is required.
Position Purpose:
A Groundskeeper’s responsibility is to perform a variety of landscaping, site clean-up, golf cart upkeep, deliveries to sites, and outdoor maintenance activities such as mowing, trash clean-up and removal, scooping ash from firepits, delivery of ice and firewood, and site maintenance. This role ensures all outside areas including sites and common areas are well maintained and kept.

- Prepares the grounds daily as necessary. Includes picking up all visible trash from the front entrance and around the entire property/grounds.
- Maintain designated areas of the property. This includes activities such as site cleaning, lawn maintenance, and care, trash pick up and removal, and arrangement of furniture or fixtures.
- Operate small handheld manual or power equipment for basic lawn care such as weedwhacker, hedge trimmers, etc. May also use larger equipment such as tractors, backhoes, forklifts, etc.
- Maintain flower beds and other trimmed landscaping
- Keeps work areas, and storage areas well maintained and clean.
- May complete basic housekeeping as requested.
- Deliveries to sites as communicated by front desk staff.
- Provide excellent guest service to help move or position furniture or fixtures.
- Provide manual labor to support opening activities of the campground including basic carpentry, painting, and cleaning.
- Providing onsite guest support, queries, or requests through a high-quality customer service approach.
- May provide directional support or guidance to guests through the property.
- Works cohesively with guest service, housekeeping, maintenance, and other departments to exceed guest expectations and achieve company and departmental goals.
- Adhere strictly to rules regarding health and safety and be aware of any company-related practices

Physical Demands
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee frequently is required to climb or balance. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 75-100 pounds (with the assistance of a team lift or hand tool). Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
