What are the responsibilities and job description for the Instrument Reliability Leader position at Koch Fertilizer?
Koch Fertilizer Enid, LLC is now seeking an Instrument Reliability Leader. The position offers opportunity for growth into the areas of functional safety and SIS, as well as regulatory process control and DCS. This role will work cross functionally with Koch Fertilizer Plants and be responsible for the optimization of the performance of instrument and controls systems.
Our Team
Koch Fertilizer Enid has about 300 employees that help with operations of developing ammonia for different fertilizer products. You will concentrate on leading a team of about 4-5 individuals who are focused on field instrumentation, valves, and field instrument systems up to and including control system hardware.
What You Will Do
- Supervise and develop a team of instrument engineers to increase team and individual capability
- Facilitate instrument reliability interaction and support with process controls, maintenance and operations staff
- Identify and correct site instrument bad actors
- Develop plans and strategies for increasing the instrument reliability of the plant
- Drive improvements through plant turnarounds, reliability strategies, and projects
- Proactively and deliberately advance the Principle Based Management (PBM®) culture
- Understanding and communicating instrument measures and scorecards
- Maintain and develop site mechanical integrity procedures for instrumentation
- Participate in work scope reviews and audits for unit shutdowns and normal operations
- Support capital projects to ensure site requirements are met for instrumentation selection, design, installation and commissioning
- Participate in the change management work process
- Participate in PSM/RMP compliance audits
- Provide representation on company cross-site instrument teams for knowledge sharing and program development
Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)
- 5 years of reliability engineering or maintenance experience
- Ability to travel up to 10% of the time
What Will Put You Ahead
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Engineering
- TÜV Functional safety certification
- Supervisory experience within a chemical, refining or petrochemical environment
- Experience in DCS, SIS instrumentation maintenance or design
- Digital asset/data management experience
- Experience working with Process Safety regulations (i.e., 29 CFR 1910.119 and 40 CFR 68)
- Experience with Process Hazard Analysis (PHA), management of change (MOC), and pre-startup safety reviews (PSSR)
- Root cause failure analysis (RCFA) investigation experience
