What are the responsibilities and job description for the Payroll Assistant position at Koch Foods?
Identify areas of improvement and lead the implementation of new payroll processes and systems.
- Maintain confidential information by adhering to legal and ethical standards.
- Trouble-shoot and debug issues in processes, functions, and interfaces relating to HR, Payroll, Benefits, Pension, Time Entry, etc.
- Ensure appropriate application of all State and Federal compliance regulations.
- Identify areas for improvement and take initiative to implement changes that increase payroll effectiveness.
- Manage and develop the Payroll Assistant on a day-to-day basis giving training and development where needed.
- Liaise with auditors and manage payroll tax audits weekly / monthly.
- Process payroll journal entries to General Ledger.
- Export and import data into payroll database (pay increases, benefit changes, etc.).
- Prepare payroll and 401K wire transfers for processing weekly.
- Special Payroll projects as needed.
- All other duties as assigned.
- Associates' degree in business, accounting, or a related field required.
- Two (2) years or more of payroll management or supervisory experience in a corporate payroll department required.
- Strong knowledge of payroll software / HRIS (ADP, Kronos) and MS Office (especially Excel).
- Ability to meet deadlines while maintaining compliance and regulatory standards.
- Work well while under pressure or in stressful situations
- Proficient reading, writing, and mathematical skills.
- Successful completion of accredited management training program.
- Poultry, manufacturing, or other related industry experience a plus, but not required.
Collect and submit data for annual 401K audit.
