Position Overview:
KODA Technologies is seeking a Stress Engineer to support the Mars Ascent Vehicle Integrated System (MAVIS) Program in Huntsville, Alabama. The selected candidate will be responsible for performing Finite Element Method (FEM) static analysis of launch vehicle structures. The candidate will also provide insight to the design team regarding structural changes based on analysis results and provide support to stress team Tabletop Review / Preliminary Design Review products, contractual deliverables, Integrated Product Team meetings, and other meetings and documentation support as needed. The candidate will support the development and delivery of contract deliverables related to the design subsystem's structure.
Required Experience:
- Familiarity with FEM analysis and classical stress and strain methodology (for example, engineering statics, and structural mechanics, including hand calculations)
- Experience using NASTRAN to develop, modify, and verify finite element models.
Desired Experience:
- 5 years in stress analysis and building Finite Element Method models.
- Strong structural analysis background with demonstrated work experience
- Non-linear and buckling analysis experience
- Experience with composite materials and test analysis
- Experience performing FEM dynamic analysis of launch vehicle structures is a plus.
Schedule: 9/80 Schedule with primary work done in the office.
