Responsibilities include:
- Operational Management:
- Oversee day-to-day operations, including vehicle availability, rentals, returns, and maintenance scheduling.
- Maintain compliance with local, state, and federal regulations related to vehicle rental operations.
- Monitor and manage fleet inventory, ensuring vehicles are clean, fueled, and rental-ready.
- Customer Service:
- Deliver excellent customer service, addressing customer inquiries, complaints, and special requests promptly.
- Foster positive relationships with customers, ensuring a seamless rental experience.
- Develop strategies to attract and retain repeat customers.
- Team Leadership:
- Supervise, train, and motivate a small team of rental agents and support staff.
- Create work schedules, assign tasks, and monitor performance.
- Promote a positive and collaborative workplace culture.
- Financial Oversight:
- Identify and implement strategies to maximize profitability.
- Marketing and Community Engagement:
- Develop local marketing campaigns to attract tourists and locals.
- Collaborate with local businesses, hotels, and tourism agencies to build partnerships.
- Represent the business at community events and gatherings.
- Problem-Solving and Adaptability:
- Address challenges unique to the remote Kodiak area, such as logistics, limited resources, and weather-related issues.
- Implement creative solutions to ensure smooth branch operations in a remote environment.
- Meet production demands in a very fast paced environment that requires a quick turn around of vehicles
- Manage rental fleet to ensure vehicle condition is documented prior to rental.
- Manage incoming rentals to ensure vehicle has not sustained any damage during customers rental.
- Mentoring/redirecting/coaching employees to be compliant with company policies and procedures
- Completing all required reporting in the allotted time frame
- Maintaining a clean and safe working environment at all times
Requirements:
- Experience: Minimum 3 years of management experience, preferably in car rental, hospitality, or logistics.
- Strong leadership and team-building abilities.
- Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills.
- Proficient in financial management and reporting.
- Problem-solving mindset, especially in unique or remote conditions.
- Associate or Bachelor's degree preferred
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving history
- Willing to undergo a background check, in accordance with local laws
