What You Will Be Doing
The Mechanical Estimator is responsible for accurately preparing cost estimates for mechanical construction projects, including HVAC, plumbing, and piping systems. This role involves reviewing project specifications, analyzing blueprints, and coordinating with internal and external stakeholders to ensure competitive and accurate bids.
The Ideal Candidate
Review project documents (plans, specifications, and addenda) to understand project scope and requirements.
Prepare accurate and detailed cost estimates for labor, materials, and equipment.
Solicit and evaluate supplier and subcontractor quotes for project components.
Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure estimates align with project goals.
Identify potential project risks and provide input on cost implications.
Utilize estimating software and tools to prepare bids efficiently.
Maintain an organized database of historical costs and pricing for future reference.
Other Essential Functions
Proficiency in estimating software and Microsoft Office Suite.
Strong analytical and mathematical skills.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints and specifications.
Excellent communication and organizational skills.
Deep understanding of mechanical systems and construction practices.
3 years of mechanical estimating experience, with a proven track record in HVAC, plumbing, or piping projects.
