What You Will Be Doing
The Senior Mechanical Estimator leads the preparation of complex mechanical construction cost estimates for HVAC, plumbing, and piping systems on large-scale projects. This role requires extensive industry experience, strong leadership skills, and a proven ability to manage multiple high-value bids simultaneously.
The Ideal Candidate
Develop comprehensive and competitive estimates for complex mechanical projects, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
Review and interpret project documents, including drawings, specifications, and RFPs.
Manage the solicitation and evaluation of supplier and subcontractor quotes, ensuring compliance with project requirements.
Provide strategic input during bid review meetings to optimize competitiveness and profitability.
Mentor and guide junior estimators, fostering a culture of learning and excellence.
Collaborate with project management and engineering teams to ensure estimates align with project execution strategies.
Stay updated on industry trends, material costs, and labor rates to maintain competitive pricing.
Present estimates and recommendations to senior leadership and clients as needed.
Other Essential Functions
Proficiency in estimating software and Microsoft Office Suite.
Strong analytical and mathematical skills.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints and specifications.
Excellent communication and organizational skills.
Deep understanding of mechanical systems and construction practices.
5 years of mechanical estimating experience, with a proven track record in HVAC, plumbing, or piping projects.
