The specific salary offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors including the candidate’s experience, their education, and the work location. Key Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership & Vision
- Develop and implement a comprehensive global strategy for Kohler’s full portfolio of global properties that supports Kohler's long-term business objectives, growth plans, and sustainability goals.
- Lead and mentor a global, diverse team of facilities managers, engineers, and hospitality and recreation professionals to achieve operational excellence and enhance employee and guest experiences.
- Set the vision for building and managing high-performance manufacturing, office, design centers, hospitality, and recreation environments from the ground up, ensuring all projects meet budgetary, timeline, and quality standards.
- Oversee the design, development, and management of global facilities projects, from conceptualization through construction and operational handoff.
- Drive capital project strategies, ensuring that renovations and investments in new hospitality, retail, office, and manufacturing facilities are executed on time and within budget.
- Collaborate closely with internal and external partners (including architects, contractors, and designers) to bring innovative, human-centered, and sustainable concepts to life.
- Lead the operational management of Kohler's global facilities, including manufacturing plants, warehouses, corporate offices, showrooms, and hospitality properties, ensuring they meet world-class standards for safety, efficiency, and productivity.
- Oversee day-to-day facility operations globally across all locations, including maintenance, security, space planning, employee well-being initiatives, and ongoing upgrades to improve overall facility functionality.
- Manage the global facilities budget, optimizing resources and expenditures to ensure profitability and operational efficiency.
- Negotiate contracts with vendors, service providers, and partners to secure competitive pricing, top-tier services, and long-term partnerships that benefit the business.
- Lead global sustainability initiatives for all types of Kohler facilities, prioritizing energy efficiency, waste reduction, and environmental certifications (e.g., LEED).
- Stay ahead of industry trends and emerging technologies to continuously improve operational processes, guest experiences, and the overall environmental impact of facilities.
- Ensure global compliance with health, safety, environmental, and regulatory standards for all hospitality, manufacturing, and corporate facilities.
- Implement and maintain crisis management, business continuity, and emergency preparedness plans to ensure the safe operation of facilities across all global locations.
- Serve as a strategic partner to Kohler’s executive leadership team, providing insights and recommendations that align facility management strategies with the company’s growth, culture, and financial objectives.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with external stakeholders, including vendors, regulatory bodies, and key partners in the hospitality and manufacturing sectors.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Architecture, Business Administration, Facilities Management, or a related field. Master’s degree preferred.
- Minimum of 15 years of global senior leadership experience in managing global properties and facilities operations, including both project design & execution and large-scale global facilities management. Global experience in the manufacturing industry and the hospitality industry are both preferred.
- Experience in managing capital expenditures of at least $400M
- Proven track record in leading and delivering large-scale projects from inception to operational success, preferably in environments including professional offices, manufacturing facilities, retail & design show rooms, and hospitality properties.
- In-depth understanding of manufacturing facility operations, hospitality standards, and global regulatory compliance.
- expertise in budget management, financial forecasting, contract negotiations, and capital project oversight.
- Exceptional leadership skills with a demonstrated ability to manage diverse teams across multiple regions.
- Strong communication, problem-solving, and change management skills, with a demonstrated ability to influence senior leadership and drive innovation.
- Regular global travel is required.
