We are looking for a part-time Family Specialist to serve families who have adopted children/youth out of the foster care system and are experiencing challenges with the child’s/youth’s behavioral and mental health. The Family Specialist works directly with youth and families to model positive behavior and implement targeted behavioral interventions to enhance stability, safety, and well-being. This includes working directly in the family’s home and community to provide support and interventions.

This is a part-time position, offering up to 20 hours per week, primarily in the afternoons and evenings, with approximately two Saturday shifts each month.
Under the leadership of the Wraparound Program Supervisor, you will work with the Wraparound Facilitator and the Wraparound Parent Partner to provide direct services to youth and families. This includes:
- Work directly with youth and families in their home and community to develop positive relationships and implement the plan of care
- Model positive behavior and implement targeted behavioral interventions to promote stabilization in the home and community
- Provide skill-building interventions for the youth and family to improve their behavioral outcomes
- Participate in a family-centered, strength-based, culturally sensitive planning process for creating individualized plans of care
- Support youth to participate effectively in child and family team (CFT) meetings
- Implement strengths-based behavior plans with individualized strategies that include supportive linkage to the community and school
- Maintain case files for assigned youth and families
- Transport youth to appointments and community resources
We are seeking candidates with an associate’s degree in a behavioral science-related field (or substantial coursework completed toward an AA degree), and who have one year of experience working with high-risk youth (preferred). We will also consider candidates with “lived experience” with foster care and adoption.

Important Note:
Qualified candidates must complete a criminal background clearance through the California Department of Justice and FBI to ensure eligibility for employment, as well as a pre-employment physical and TB test. This position requires a valid driver’s license, auto insurance and reliable transportation as driving is an essential job function. Family Specialists are responsible for tasks such as visiting client homes, transporting youth, engaging with community partners, often in locations not easily accessible by alternative transportation methods. The nature of these responsibilities necessitates the ability to drive to ensure timely, reliable, confidential and effective support for the youth and families we serve.
