POSITION SUMMARY: Headquartered in Delray Beach, Florida, The Kolter Group (www.kolter.com) is a diversified real estate development and investment firm that has invested in projects with expected value in excess of $29 Billion.
The Financial Analyst will join Kolter Multifamily and be responsible for creating and maintaining complex financial models, pro formas, budgets and forecasts, actual-to-budget analyses, as well as assisting in capital raising efforts and preparing other ad hoc reports as requested for the firm’s new and existing rental apartment projects. The Financial Analyst will have a thorough knowledge of finance and accounting with demonstrated quantitative aptitude and strong communication and organizational skills.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Asset Management
- Update Financial Models & Budgets for active projects concurrent with bi-annual update cycle and periodic budget change requests
- Create and review performance reports, budgets and forecasts, and dashboard visualizations
- Prepare and submit monthly draws to lenders and equity partners for active projects
- Prepare monthly analyses of operating deficit and interest reserve needs for active projects
- Create other ad hoc reports as requested
Acquisitions
- Prepare internal investment committee memoranda, including supporting schedules
- Assist development team in creation of complex financial models for acquisitions, ensuring consistency with underwriting standards and investment committee memo
- Review of due diligence reports and other transaction documents to ensure consistency with underwriting
Capital Sourcing
- Create presentation materials and other work related to the procurement of equity and participate in calls with prospective equity partners to pitch new opportunities
- Assist Capital Markets team with RFPs and other work related to the procurement and closing of new loans and refinancing
- Assist in gathering and providing information to assist with appraisals, plan & cost reviews, and other lender and investor requests
QUALIFICATIONS:
- High level of proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
- High aptitude for quantitative and financial analysis
- Preference for experience with or knowledge of real estate development & investment, private equity & debt finance, data management & visualization
- Strong verbal, written, and presentation skills
- Strong personal attributes: ethical, self-motivated, multi-tasker, great communicator, organized and detail-oriented, team player, creative, professional appearance and manner
EDUCATION AND/OR CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
This position requires a minimum BA (degree in finance preferred). Strongest academics and test scores required with an emphasis on performance in quantitative courses.
